Te Tiriti o Waitangi

We refer to te Tiriti o Waitangi rather than the Treaty of Waitangi to align with the Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act.

Policy

Test Medical Centre Foundation recognises/honours our responsibility to give effect to te Tiriti o Waitangi as a founding document of Aotearoa New Zealand. 

We affirm that a purpose of the Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act is to create a health sector that gives effect to te Tiriti o Waitangi and achieves equity in health outcomes. We honour our responsibility as a health entity in Aotearoa New Zealand, to:

Embedding te Tiriti o Waitangi

Test Medical Centre Foundation ensures each team member understands the importance of te Tiriti o Waitangi in health care, and knows how to apply the principles to their area of work.

In support of this commitment, all team members undertake learning and development to strengthen their understanding of te Tiriti o Waitangi in healthcare practice, and their cultural capabilities.
